KSGI Delta Force SF Vest
Our most obscure combat webbing repro yet, the SF Vest was the combination of what would appear to be several other chest rig design inspirations and ended up being a homebrewed favorite of the world's most elite special forces as the GWOT kettle began to boil with the hunt for Bin Laden & onward.
Homemade & unit-commissioned kit for the US special forces had its last big moments during the dawn hours of the hunt for Bin Laden - the original rig (or rigs, as there were several variants) was made with nonstandard woodland Cordura nylon & certainly looked different than many of the chest rigs that had been issued up to that point.
The rig features an almost unusually wide footprint, wrapping around most of the user's body - this was needed for the sheer amount of storage desired for 6 STANAG magazines, extra pistol mags, radios, and large GP pouches.
Rounding out those features is a chest-rig-traditional map pouch on the back and curiously,Ā attachments for a pistol belt. It seems to draw a few features from the prior "LBV" rigs present throughout the 80s and 90s but with a more modern twist to fit the needs of the spooks & seals that needed more in the demanding combat environment of Afghanistan.
The harness was a simple "X" design that had made itself popular since the 80s and was low bulk for throwing on over the commonly used soft armor from "Point Blank" and others of the time.
Ours takes just about as much as you can possibly clone from the original and brings it all back, down to tracking down the odd nonstandard variant of woodland camo referred to as "Woodland 787". It's true to the original with all of its quirks, features, andĀ extra-large footprint.Ā

Sizing
We can't say the rig is truly "one size fits all" due to its large footprint - the rig is large enough that we unfortunately can't recommend for users that would normally wear an Extra Small or Small T-Shirt, with it even being on the big end for people who'd wear a Medium without maxing out the adjustments.
Our model in the photos wears a medium, and as you can see, even with our reversible DNC/DCU jacket on, he's cinching things down quite a bit.
That said, everyone else should be able to enjoy the rig, especially when stacked on top of soft armor or bulky layers.
The sizing is just a quirk of the originals, which we obviously didn't want to drastically change for the sake of making it useable on smaller individuals.
