The insignia for âForce Operation Xâ. A CIA backed black ops unit founded by the Boss and Major Zero in the early 60s. The patch first appears on Naked Snake's fatigues during Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater during Operation Virtuous Mission and Operation Snake Eater.
 FOX was officially disbanded following the San Hieronymo Incident. A unit rebellion secretly backed by a CIA director as a deniable op. In the wake of Its disbandment followed the creation of many of the defining organizations of the Metal Gear series. The Patriots, Les Enfants Terribles, and FOXHOUND can all be traced to the fractionation of FOX.
