The Paulson DK6 Series Visor is the full-sized riot shield's highly aggressive, face-mounted cousin. Instead of lugging around a massive sheet of polycarbonate in your hands, you slap this bad boy right onto your brain bucket, freeing up both hands for... well, whatever you need your hands for. But just like the larger shields, these can take an absolute clobbering with no problems.
The idea behind the face shield is simple: keep the important, squishy bits (your eyes and teeth) safe from flying hazards. Whether you're dealing with thrown rocks, an angry ex-girlfriend, or the chaotic debris of a dynamic breach, having a thick wall of armor between your face and the outside world is a massive confidence booster.
Paulson, a prolific manufacturer of polycarbonate PPE and other riot gear, built the DK6 series to hold up to some serious abuse. Designed specifically to mount seamlessly to Military ACH, MSA, MICH, and PASGT Helmets, these visors are made of a beefy quarter-inch thick (.250) V-50 rated Lexan™. Thrown projectiles, chemicals, and even a little fragmentation can be shrugged off. If you somehow break one of these under the tremendous load or impact it would take to do so, the material is entirely shatterproof. Oh, and the "af" in the model name? That means it features an anti-fog coating right out of the factory.
*Note: There is NOT a specific NIJ Ballistic rating on these, meaning there is likely no protection from firearms. For god's sake, stay safe.
And no, strapping a quarter-inch of Lexan to your helmet doesn't make you a sweaty try-hard. Channel your inner Rainbow Six Siege operator or MW2 Juggernaut, and wade into the fray knowing your dental plan is secure.
